Buying gifts for people is boring, but buying the best gifts for your cat can be something you both get to enjoy. There’s nothing quite like seeing their little face light up as you unwrap a new toy in front of them. It can be difficult to know what toys are best to get a good reaction from your cat, so we’ve done some of the legwork for you.
Our favorite and (in our opinion) the best gift for cats is the PetFusion Scratcher Lounge, our cat never leaves it alone! Let’s take a look at some of the other best affordable gifts for cats to get the ideas flowing.

The Best Gifts For Cats
Each cat will have different tastes and interests when it comes to toys, so rather than just list our rankings, we’ve gone a little more in-depth to bring you a review of each. Below is a list of the top gifts for cats that are guaranteed to entertain.
1. PetFusion Scratcher Lounge
Cats absolutely adore this scratcher lounge. We’ve tried a few different scratchers with our cat without much luck, but we were amazed at how much time they spent playing with this.
It’s made from recycled cardboard and non-toxic glue. The curves make it perfect for a cat to lie on and scratch. It looks really modern and stylish, so unlike most scratchers or posts, it won’t look out of place in your house. You get the best of both worlds.
Give your cat a gift they’ll love (or at best, save your furniture from dreaded scratches)!

2. ViviPet Cat Dining Table
This gorgeous dining table set by ViviPet is the perfect gift for cats. It’s stunning in appearance and keeps things nice and tidy (our cat is a notoriously messy eater!).
It comes in wood grain or in plain white (we thought wood looked best), and the shallow wide ceramic cat shaped dishes are supposedly designed to make eating more comfortable for your cat.
It’s also really nice to be able to pick them up by the “ears” and avoid getting any cat food on your hands. The table is slanted at a decent angle, so they won’t have to stand on it or stretch to reach their food.
It features a slot for cat grass, though we mostly used it as a place to store a little water bowl instead. This is probably best for adult cats, since kittens might have to stand up on the table to get at their food.
3. Sushi Catnip Plush
This Sushi Catnip Plush collection is hands-down the cutest cat gift we’ve ever seen.
The plushes are just as colorful as they look in the picture and cats go absolutely wild for them. They have the best detailing of any toy we’ve tried and feel safe and well made.
We’re used to our cat playing with a toy for a day or two at best then never looking at it again. No such trouble here, we’ve packed these away only to find out that our cat has dug them out of the basket herself! She really can’t get enough of them, and neither can we.
The toys were created by a husband/wife business called munchiecat who also make other sets like wine and cheese. Needless to say, we love them all and think they’re the up there with the best gifts ever.
4. Catit Fountain
This water fountain by Catit is a real gem. By far and wide the best cat fountain out there.
It features three different water flow settings for picky drinkers. It even has a water softening filter that helps oxygenate the water and keep it fresh. Unlike most other cat water fountains, we were surprised that it doesn’t take up a lot of space at all.
Our cat preferred drinking out of the sink until we got this fountain. Now it’s the only place they bother drinking from!
Amazed at the difference we saw in our cat’s drinking habits using this fountain, so it has a well deserved spot on our list of the best gifts for cats.
5. Snuggle Safe Heated Pad
The SnuggleSafe heatpad is perfect for winter.
It’s non-toxic and just needs to be popped in the microwave for between 3 to 5 minutes depending on the microwave strength. It retains heat for absolutely ages, and is best placed under any bed or pad to provide lasting warmth throughout.
Ideal for kittens or older cats on cold nights. It’s also the best way to dictate where your cat sleeps at night which is an added bonus.
Thankfully, there’s no electric involved, so you don’t have to worry about turning it off at night.
6. Prosper Pet Cat Tunnel
Another popular favorite, this cat tunnel from Prosper has three different tunnels designed to keep cats entertained for hours. It’s one our favorite furniture pieces for cats.
It was actually a little smaller than we expected, though to be honest it’s probably a good thing as it’s easier to pack away and doesn’t take up the whole floor-space of whatever room we put it in. It’s still plenty big enough for adult cats to enjoy, don’t worry.
It’s super entertaining to see your cat’s little head pop up through the middle after seeing them disappear into it.
We love this and think it’s well worth a try. This is the best reception we’ve seen from any cat tunnel.
7. Yeowww My Cats Balls
These catnip balls have the biggest effect we’ve ever seen. I’m not sure whether it’s down to the quality of catnip being used or if it’s something else entirely, but cats are crazy for these little balls! Yeowww are well known for only using the best catnip available, and it really shows.
Cats manage to keep themselves entertained for ages with these, batting them around and chasing them all over the place. It’s really entertaining to watch.
Another bonus is that they’re small enough for cats to pick up with their mouths, makes for fun games of fetch (yes, with a cat!).
8. Catch Interactive Feeder
This is a real fun little interactive feeder that turns meal time into play time.
Chuck a couple of treats in and watch your cat paw and play until they get what they’re after. It’s designed to challenge cats’ natural hunting instincts and make meal times a little more exciting.
It’s a little bigger than we expected and we initially bought it to slow our cat’s eating down a little. She was wolfing down her food too quickly and throwing up, so a friend recommended we try a feeder as it was what worked best for them. Needless to say we were really impressed and it looks like she really enjoys it too!
